Welcome to Scrip 2010-2011
Dear Reverend Brown Parents:
We’re pleased to share some exciting news about a program for our school. It’s called “scrip”, and it’s a program that works while you shop.
Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift certificates that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including Shop Rite, Stop & Shop, JC Penney, The Gap, Home Depot, Shell, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster and many, many others.
You’re probably asking yourself how these stores help your family. It’s simple -- scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to Reverend Brown at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our school applies the difference to your family’s 2010/2011 scrip fee.
For example: If you purchase a $100 Gymboree gift card, which currently has a 14% rebate (discount), $14.00 will get credited to your $250 scrip fee which now makes your scrip fee balance ($250 minus $14.00) $ 236.
The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for your scrip fee without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program! And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out. The Reverend Brown scrip program promises to be a simple and effective program to help you pay down your scrip fee.
Also, there is a program offered by Great Lakes Scrip that raises money for our school. Your company or employer can simply register with www.rewardsandmoregiftcards.com, choose Reverend Brown as their non-profit beneficiary, order the gift cards and pay with their own corporate card if they choose. The cards are delivered to the business itself, not Reverend Brown. Our school will receive a check for the donation!

Scrip Registration Instructions
To register go to shopwithscrip.com and click on “get started”. Then click on “register” which can be found in the left hand column of this page. Fill in your personal information using Reverend Brown’s enrollment code: D5142BA954L4. Once you are registered you may start shopping!
In order to process your scrip order, you must complete your order no later than midnight on Sunday and all checks must be received by Monday morning of each scrip week listed below. Orders will be cancelled if your check is not received on time. Your certificates will be sent home with your oldest child on Thursday (barring any unforeseen problems).
The Scrip dates for the year are:
September 13th and 27th,
October 12th and 25th (Oct 12th is a Tuesday, order will not be received until the following Monday
November 8th, 15th and 29th
December 13th
January 10th and 24th
February 7th and 28th
March 14th and 28th
April 11th and 18th
May 9th and 23th,
June 6th (applied to 2010-2011)
